 Melinda Thompson

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Melinda began her insurance career in an independent agency in 1973. She was licensed as a property/casualty agency in early 1975, receiving her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in 1989. Joining Bush Insurance in 1982, Melinda progressed through all aspects of the agency, becoming an owner in 1994. Upon acquisition of the Bush-Thompson agency in 2019, Melinda stayed on as Branch Manager for the now northeast Florida Beck Partners location for the new owners. She has also taken on the role of Carrier Relations Director for the Insurance Division.

Personal

Melinda is married with two adult children and one adorable grandson. She loves helping people and solving problems. In her spare time, she enjoys working on DIY construction and remodeling projects with her husband. Her favorite life quote is from the 2004 movie Connie and Carla, “Life is like a patio door…. You never know which side is open, and then you run into the glass.”


Patty Hagan

Shortly after 1980, Patty went to work for the Florida Windstorm Underwriting Association (now known as Citizens Property & Casualty Insurance Company) as a temporary employee in the accounting department.  After a year, she was offered a full- time position to work in all areas of the office.  In 1985, Patty’s husband was transferred to the Naval Base in Charleston, South Carolina.  In 1996, she found herself working for an independent insurance agency in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, as a personal lines customer service representative. She also assisted with some commercial service work.  When the agency sold, she moved to other office fields but always felt insurance was the most interesting field. During 1995, Patty’s husband was again transferred, this time to Naval Air Station Jacksonville where she went to work for a local leasing company handling all their insurance documents and bank audits for leases in 2000.  In 2004, Patty began working for Bush-Thompson Insurance (BTI) where she obtained her General Lines Agent (2-20) and Life and Health Agent (2-15) licenses and now spends her days as a Personal Lines Account Manager. Being a part of the BTI team has allowed her to grow and meet many wonderful people while also taking care of her family.

Educational History 

Patty attended Beaufort Technical College in Beaufort, SC and Florida Junior College (now known as Florida State College) studying accounting and business administration.

Family + Free Time 

Patty has three children and one toy poodle.  She enjoys camping, sewing and crafts in general.  Along with spending time with her husband, she is very active in their church where she teaches Sunday School, sings in the choir along with participating other ministries.


Jennifer Hudzinski

Professional History

Jennifer has been in the industry since 1991. Jennifer has worked both in personal lines account managing and commercial lines account managing. Jennifer also has office management experience. Prior to coming to Bush-Thompson in 2005, Jennifer was the personal & commercial account manager as well as the office manager for a large Nationwide Insurance office. Jennifer has worked for captive and non-captive insurance companies and feels her niche is the Independent Agencies.

Educational History

Jennifer attended Clayton Community Junior College, Atlanta, GA and Florida College Jacksonville, FL. After receiving her insurance licenses, she re-entered the cooperate work force from the private work force.

Family and Free Time

Jennifer was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and while attending Clayton Community Junior College, she met her husband of 40 years (he dialed the wrong number and got me). Jennifer moved to the Chicago area with her husband, Rich (USMC) and together they raised 3 sons. In 1990, Jennifer’s family moved to the Jacksonville, FL area. Two of their sons went on to become Marines like their dad, 1 receiving a Purple Heart in the battle of Fallujah, Iraq. Jennifer has 7 grandchildren, which are her pride and joy.

Jennifer loves to read, golf and spend time with her family. The sweetest sound in the world to her is the sound of her grandchildren laughing.
